講座内容
さまざまな資料の英語表現に触れることで、語彙力を増やし、英語の幅を広げましょう。同じような単語は、どのようにトーンやニュアンスが違うのか、著者の意図は何かなどを一緒に考えます。We will probably be able to take up five or six short essays, articles, or book excerpts, and perhaps some short poems or songs, while looking carefully at the vocabulary. We will not be able to have the small group discussions this time, but I will still make worksheets with questions for you: we will discuss your answers together, with the whole class. We will have time for your thoughts and reactions to the material, and I will continue to have some exercises to help us practice any idioms and new vocabulary, and to consider the tone, style, and nuance of our readings.

坂西 エリザベス
（麗澤オープンカレッジ講師） -
Beth Sakanishi is from New York and got her M.A. in English literature from the University of Washington. In Japan, she has taught at many places, including Temple University Japan, Tsuda International Training Center and Reitaku University. She has taught a variety of subjects: speech, debate, writing, history, and cross cultural issues to university students, business people, doctors and those who are interested in working for NGO's and the U.N. 米ニューヨーク州出身。ワシントン大学(シアトル)英文学修士。日本における英語講師歴はテンプル大学、津田国際研修センター、麗澤大学等、多数。大学生、社会人、医師、NGO・国連職員志望者を対象に、スピーチ、ライティング、歴史、異文化問題等、幅広い科目を担当。
