講座内容
This is a content-base course with students’ active participation. What does it mean to open a window ???? You get some view of the outside, right? So, the vision I have for this course is to encourage you to open NEW (virtual) windows, to see situations or issues related to European histories, cultures and societies from A NEW ANGLE. Through the use of original materials based on video footage, feature films, songs and articles, recent topics have included ethymology of English words, the 1960s, family and romantic relationships, or food security, while reviewing grammar patterns from Intermediate Level upwards like the use of the passive forms, or countable and uncountable nouns. At the same time, I hope to relate the selected topics to aspects of Japanese history & culture, thereby bridging East & West. Reading in English can help you acquire vocabulary. If you spend time reading the handouts before class, you will enjoy the course more!
